15 days Everest basecamp trek
Follow the path of legends through the heart of the Himalayas, past ancient Sherpa villages and colorful prayer flags.

Day 1: Arrival
Altitude: 1,350 m/ 4,428 ft (Kathmandu)
One of the staffs from CoreTreks will pick you up from the airport and take you to a hotel. The hotels are three-star or above based on your preference. We will have a brief session about our trek and a little bit of sightseeing or shopping around the streets of Thamel. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 2: Arrival
Early morning drive to Manthali airport, Flight to Lukla from Manthali airport and hike towards Phakding.
- Altitude: 2,840m/ 9,315 ft (Lukla) 2,610/ 8,560 ft. (Phakding)
- Drive approx. 4 hours, (132 Km) Flight Duration: 25 min. Walk approx.: 3 hours

Prepare for an exhilarating and breathtaking short flight, as this experience is renowned for its dramatic and thrilling nature. The entire scenic flight typically lasts between 30 to 45 minutes, providing you with ample opportunity to soak in the awe-inspiring views. Upon landing at Lukla, the trail unfolds before you, leading toward our first stop. Embark on a 3-4 hour hike towards the charming village of Phakding, tracing the path alongside the Dudh Koshi River and offering glimpses of the majestic Gokyo Lake, which is one of our main destinations. The trek to Phakding is relatively easier, granting you the chance to explore picturesque small villages along the way, adding to the overall charm of the journey.
# Due to heavy air traffic, direct flight may not be possible in high trekking season (March, April, May, September, October & November) so, we have to take flight from Manthali airport of Ramechap instead of Kathmandu airport.
Day 3: Phakding to Namche Bazaar
- Altitude: 3,410 m/ 11,184 ft (Namche Bazaar)
- Walk Approx.: 6 hours
- Meal included: Breakfast, lunch & Dinner
After breakfast at Phakding the trek begins towards a mountain town of Namche Bazzar. Several small settlements and villages are stretched towards Namche Bazzar. The trekking route passes through the Sagarmatha National Park which is yet again a picturesque path with alpine woods, streams and rhododendron tress. Namche Bazzar is the commercial hub in the Khumbu region because of its location and topography. We will be staying overnight at a guesthouse near Namche Bazzar.


Day 4: Namche Bazaar, Acclimatization Day
- 3,720 m/ 12,201 ft. (Syangboche)
- Walk Approx.: 3 hours

Namche Bazar is the perfect place for acclimatization. A short hike towards Syangboche (3720m) is done after breakfast. The panoramic view of the great Himalayan ranges such as Mount Everest (8848m), Mt Lhotse (8749m), Nuptse (7861m), Ama Dablam (6856m), and Labuche (6119m) can be seen from these viewpoints. Further from Namche lies the Everest View Hotel which is a hotel located at the highest altitude on earth. Overnight stay at a guesthouse.
Day 5: Namche Bazaar to Tengboche
- 3,860 m/ 12,660 ft. (Tengboche)
- Walk Approx.: 5 hours
- Meal included: Breakfast, lunch & Dinner
The journey towards Tengboche starts following the trails which marches along the glacial waters of the Dudh Koshi with mesmerizing views of the Himalayas. A famous monastery lies at Tengboche where a 20-foot sculpture of Buddha, incredibly ornate wall hangings, and the musical instruments and robe of the Lamas can be seen. A prayer ceremony is done every day in the monastery and you along with the fellow trekkers will be taken to observe the prayer – either in the evening or morning depending on the trekking schedule. Overnight stay at a guesthouse.


Day 06: Tengboche to Dingboche
- Altitude: 4,400 m/ 14,432ft. (Dingboche).
- Walk Approx.: 5 hours
- Meal included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
The trail then will go through Imja Khola. You can enjoy crossing exciting suspension bridge and climb towards Pangboche. The trek passes through traditional Sherpa villages and finally taking to the village of Dingboche from where magnificent views of Lhotse, Island Peak, and Ama Dablam can be seen. Overnight stay at a guesthouse.
Day 07: Dingboche, Acclimatisation Day
- Altitude: 5,083 m/ 16,265 ft. (Nangkartshang Peak).
- Walk Approx.: 3 hours
- Meal included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Dingboche is another great place for acclimatizing. After breakfast a hike to Nangkartshang Peak is amazing way to acclimatize yourself to the altitude. The place has an excellent viewpoint and if the weather is clear, the view of Ama Dablam peak could be seen. Trekkers can spend the rest of the afternoon strolling around the villages or resting. Overnight stay at a guesthouse.


Day 08: Dingboche to Lobuche
- Altitude: 4,910 m/ 16,104 ft. (Lobuche).
- Walk Approx.: 4 hours
- Meal included: Breakfast, lunch & Dinner
The trek further resumes by hiking towards Dhungla where an aid-post is situated at a place called Pheriche. The trail continues along the lateral moraine of Khumbu Glacier and passes by stone memorials of the climbers who have passed away during their summits. Further upward, the risk of getting altitude sickness arises so it is important to take it easy. Hence, an overnight stay at a guesthouse is arranged.
Day 09: Lobuche to Gorakshep & Everest Base camp, E.B.C to Gorakshep
- Altitude: 5,140m m/ 16,859 ft (Gorakshep) 5,364m/ 17,594 ft (E.B.C.)
- Walk Approx.: 6 hours
- Meal included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
After breakfast a slow walk further on from Lobuche starts to avoid the altitude sickness. The trail runs alongside the sight of the world’s highest glacier, the Khumbu Glacier. After about 3 hours of walk we will reach Gorakshep where the burdens and baggage are laid at the lodge. After having lunch, you will walk towards the Everest Base Camp. This is the closest point; one can get to Mount Everest without being a professional mountaineer or having hardcore mountaineering equipment. The view of the Khumbu icefall can be seen from the base camp which is a spectacular view to behold. After spending some time at the Everest Base Camp, you will head back to Gorakshep for the night. Overnight stay at a guesthouse.


Day 10: Gorakshep to Kalapathar & Back to Pheriche
- Altitude: 5,545 m/ 18,192 ft. (Kalapathar) 4,240m/ 13,907ft.(Pheriche).
- Walk Approx.: 7 hours
- Meal included: Breakfast, lunch & Dinner
The journey from Gorakshep to Kala Patthar is one of the most difficult walks during the whole trek but it is however the most rewarding as well. Kala Patthar is a famous vintage point which is known for its panoramic views of the Himalayan including the best view of Mount Everest. The hike towards Kala Patthar is done early at dawn since the sight of sunrise is one of the prime attractions of the whole trek. The view is truly something to behold as the sun rises from within the Mount Everest and changes the colors of the Himalayan ranges from silver to gold. After enjoying the mesmerizing views and getting all the photographs you need, you can head back to Gorakshep, then walk down towards Pheriche. Overnight stay at a guesthouse.
Day 11: Pheriche to Namche Bazaar
- Altitude: 3,410 m/ 11,184 ft. (Namche Bazaar).
- Walk Approx.: 6 hours
- Meal included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Saying goodbyes to the mountains, you will trek downhill the trails that follows the Imja river all the way to Tengboche. From there you will be further descend towards Phungki Thanka and finally reach Namche Bazzar once again. You can relax for the day in the region and ponder upon the amazing journey travelled and enjoy experiences the town of Namche Bazzar has to offer. Overnight stay at a guesthouse.


Day 12: Namche Bazaar to Lukla
- Altitude: 2,840 m/9,315 ft. (Lukla).
- Walk Approx.: 6 hours
- Meal included: Breakfast, lunch & Dinner
The trail from Namche Bazzar to Lukla is the same trail we will be passing through while ascending towards Namche Bazzar. The trail will be much easier as it is going downhill and lesser altitude. As you reach to Lukla, you can then relax and celebrate accomplishment of your epic journey. Overnight stay at a guesthouse.
Day 13: Morning flight Lukla to Manthali & drive to Kathmandu.

- Flight Approx.: 25 min. Drive Approx: 4 hours (132 Km)

Day 14: Full day in Kathmandu
- Altitude: 1,350 m/ 4,428 ft (Kathmandu)
- Meal included: Breakfast & Farewell Dinner
We can’t predict weather condition on mountains sometime, there may be possibility of flight delay if we’ll have a bad weather condition. So, we need a day reserved as spare day. If all goes well as per our set itinerary, you can book another exciting tour around Kathmandu. CoreTreks will host a dinner that night where you along with the fellow trekkers will be able to taste the traditional Nepali cuisine along with some cultural dance at the venue.
Overnight stay at a hotel.
Day 15: Departure Day
The day has come and after bidding our goodbyes a representative from CoreTreks will transport you to Tribhuvwan International Airport around 3 hours before your flight departure.
